Do you know those couples who really seem to fit each other so perfectly like a puzzle piece? One of them is outgoing, the other is constantly cool and calm. One is a doer, the other is the visionary. One is go-with-the-flow and the other is the detailed list-maker. I’m 100% discribing Codie & Scott. And they are crazy about each other in the most genuine way. It was so sweet to watch them get married knowing that they are so good for each other.
What an incredible blessing it is that they found the person who is the other side of their same coin!! David and I LOVE couples like this. Because we are just like this, too. We are opposites in just about every way. Now that we’re seven-plus years into our marriage, we have really learned to love our differences!! We’re like two puzzle pieces that need each other to complete the entire picture. Our personality differences really help us both to thrive while supporting the other in areas of weakness and it’s awesome.
The Friday before their wedding we took the scenic route through the mountains to get to the quaint town of Luray, Virginia. A few years back we took a vacation here and fell in love with it then, so it was quite the treat to be able to come here for Codie and Scott’s wedding weekend. Codie and I grew up together. I’ve known her since the 4th grade when I transferred to a new elementary school. She hasn’t changed much. Still incredibly friendly, outgoing, and ALWAYS Codie. She’s such a refreshing friend because she just wants the authentic version of everyone and can immediately get you to relax and be yourself. Love that about her! Who wouldn’t?
The sun was barely peaking from behind the clouds when Codie walked toward her groom on the beautiful lawns of Faithbrooke Vineyards. It was our first time photographing here and we loved the overlook of the Shenandoah Mountains. We hope you enjoy this look into their special day.
